In August 1919, the Cabinet of Ministers decided to name the national currency “muštinis“. The patterns of notes were to be designed by the artists A. Žmuidzinavičius and A. Galdikas and printed in Sweden. The project, however, was not carried out and the introduction of a national currency was postponed for more than 3 years.
