One of the rarest Poniatowski shillings - without date numerals.
A coin of great rarity, which the makers of catalogs estimated at a high grade of R8 (Czapski, Kopicki), and the makers of the largest price lists did not meet (Tyszkiewicz 50 mk with a question mark, Berezowski "?").
The type is known for two stamp varieties - with a small and large monogram of the king.
The present piece is a variety with a small monogram, known from the 1766 shillings of the Warsaw mint. We have had this type (struck with the same pair of stamps) only 1 time so far, as part of the sale of the outstanding SAP coin collection at the 5th GNDM auction (2018).
