A very rare variety, which Emeryk Hutten-Czapski described with the degree of rarity R6. A variety distinguished by its full date (1603) instead of the more popular abbreviated notation (03).
An early vintage of Poznan denarii minted by Engelbert Geelen, who, invoking the city's minting right granted by Ladislaus Jagiello, began issuing city coins under Sigismund III. Thus opening in 1602 the mint in Poznan, which had been closed a year earlier.
Beautiful state of preservation.
