A very rare thaler of the Silesian Piasts.
The thaler from the reign of the "three brothers," brilliantly elaborated in a monograph by Marcin Grandowski, is a coin that appears at auction only occasionally. The 1657 vintage has been listed only three times at auctions in Poland over the past 20 years.
This one captivates not only by its beautiful state of preservation, but also by its provenance. It is a coin from the famous collection of Henryk Karolkiewicz.
A healthy, natural thaler, with beautiful luster (especially in the rim) and patina of the former collection.
Type with straight shield, without EW initials.
Reign of George III of Brest, Louis IV of Legnica and Krystian of Wolowsko-Olawski.
Silver, diameter 45 mm, weight 28.5 g.
