Polish officer's cavalry saber wz.21. Saber introduced by order no. 280 (Journal of orders no. 14 dated 12.04.1921), pattern introduced for all types of armed forces.
Handle covered with leather and wrapped with brass wire, testifies to the execution for officers.
The head varnished and welded about 15 to the tip.
The saber is signed G. BOROWSKI WARSAW
Gabriel Borowski founded the Sequential Arms Factory in 1900 - the factory was located in Warsaw at 27 Leszno St., while the store was at 4 Zabia St. The factory ceased to exist during World War I, and Borowski himself was deported abroad by the Russians. Upon his return in 1916, Borowski resumed his business, and from 1919 began to manufacture Model 17 and Model 21 sabers, as well as military knives and cornets. After the death of G. Borowski in 1929, the company was taken over by his niece and renamed " Gabriel Borowski heiress Joanna Jankowska".
Borowski's factory is considered to be one of the most well-known as well as respected manufacturers of small arms in Poland.
The handle, along with the elements, was probably forged at a later period.
