An interesting issue of ducats, with a characteristic tree – the privy mark of mintmaster Carl Christiaan Novisadi. On the presented specimen, there are also clearly visible details not only of the mint master’s privy mark, but also of the knight on the obverse and the ornament on the reverse. On the obverse, the words RES PAR are incorrectly written as one word, without punctuation; the letter W in WESTF punched in the form of two connected V letters. The ending of the obverse legend D G & C Z, known from later ducats of the province of Gelderland. On the reverse one of the earliest inscriptions on a single ducat of the word FŒDER with OE in ligature.
