16 ducats from that year (it is possible that this coin was among them) were found in the wreck of the Vliegend Hart ship, which sank on its second voyage to Batavia, then a trading post of the Dutch East India Company (VOC) in February 1735. The contents of the chest containing the ducats from this year were scattered on the seabed, as a result of which 820 missing coins – most likely Utrecht 1728 pieces – have not been found. Although usually the entire Utrecht ducats of 1728 and 1729 are considered to be coins from the Vliegend Hart wreck, in fact these dates were known before the wreck was found. On the reverse, the letters R are punched with the letters P with a dot. There are also known ducats from this year with normal letters R in the reverse legend.
